Professional skills’ competition among employees of TAIF-NK JSC was held on the basis of the College of Petrochemistry and Oil Refining named after N.V. Lemaev. The employees of the company competed for the title "The Best in Profession" in three disciplines: chemistry lab technician, operator of process units, electrician for electrical equipment repair and maintenance. According to the conditions of the competition, the participants demonstrated their theoretical knowledge in the first phase, and their skills and abilities - in the practical part.

In one of the disciplines chemistry lab technicians competed for the title of "The Best". The employees of TAIF-NK JSC had to prove to the jury members their knowledge of labor protection, analytical chemistry and physicochemical methods of analysis.

“Such contests are needed to improve professional skills, learn something new and maybe share your experience with others. Competitive tasks allow us to understand the correctness of the implementation and we apply all this knowledge in our work. This is a strong incentive for employees,” says Margarita Shugurova, a participant in the competition, a Chemistry Lab Technician of the Crude Oil Processing Plant, TAIF-NK JSC.

After the theoretical part, the operators of the process units had to replace the gasket on the pipeline, followed by pressure testing of the flanged joint quickly, but more importantly, qualitatively. And further - start-up of the rectification column on the computer.

“The world is moving on, TAIF-NK JSC constantly puts into operation new units, introduces new technologies, produces new types of finished products, and thus, employees shall also meet these requirements of the modern world and constantly develop,”says Alexey Taimanov, the chairman of the jury, Chief Process Engineer of TAIF-NK JSC.

Electricians for electrical equipment repair and maintenance competed in the third discipline. In the theoretical part competitor had to answer a test consisting of 115 questions in 50 minutes.  And already in practice, the participants of the competition had to demonstrate their ability to work with tools and measuring devices, observing safety precautions when performing electrical installation work. The tasks for this discipline are as close as possible to those faced by electricians in their work almost every day.

I took part in WorldSkills in college for two years in a row, so I have experience. Participation in such contests is an excitement, each of us wants to show his skills and prove that he is a professional in his field, and of course, we really want to win the prize,” shares his impressions Farit Fazlyev, an Electrician of the 4th category of the Crude Oil Processing Plant, TAIF-NK JSC.

“I’d like to note that it is very difficult to overestimate the role of energy in production. The task of the power engineer is to make the technological process work concisely. Paradoxically, the work of a power engineer shall be invisible by default, and if we are held accountable, then something is wrong. This competition is the platform that can make the work of a power engineer a little bit more visible, where every electrician can show his work, show everything that he is capable of,” says Vasily Vasilkov, the chairman of the jury, Chief Power Engineer of TAIF-NK JSC.

The main aim of the professional skills’ competition is popularization of blue-collar jobs among young people, formation of a positive collective opinion, job evaluation and, of course, staff incentives.

According to the results of the competition, the best in their disciplines are as follows:
